Open letter to the Annoying People

Introduction

Dear annoying person, you are probably reading this because you were referred here after having contacted me by email. If so, please read this carefully and do not ever contact me again. If you were not referred here, you're about to find out what I think of the following class of people...

What have I done wrong?

You have showed yourself as being annoying, and probably stupid to boot.

All I did was ask you to crack whatever-software?

Yes, and that was very annoying of you. Have I ever indicated my willingness to crack software for complete strangers who contact me over the Internet?

Well, have I? No, I have not.

But you cracked Cyber Patrol/Net Nanny/CyberSitter/Whatever, didn't you?

You just had to show yourself as being stupid too, didn't you? Unless you're just emailing people at random, requesting information on how to crack or bypass filtering-software, then you have probably read one of my essays, no? And don't think for a second that by read I'm implying that you actually understood a thing of it, because plainly you did not.

Okay, got my hint or will I have to be unpleasantly blunt?

Um... the blunt thingy, please?

<deep breath> Okay, I'm not betting on you understanding this (you have kind of a poor "batting average", you know), but the motivation behind my work on filtering software was never to make it possible for really cheap software pirates to use the piece of shit software to censor others. Having read one of my essays on this topic and then reaching the conclusion that I would have any sort of interest in helping you use the software I've spent weeks writing a critique of... well, it's just mind-boggingly stupid. Whatever were you thinking?!

Now go away.
